However, empirical studies exploring how data-based management is implemented at the primary school level, particularly from a qualitative perspective, remain limited. This study aims to examine the implementation of data-driven management in improving educational quality at SDN Wangkalwetan, Kejayan District. Employing a qualitative case study design, data were collected through semi- structured interviews with the principal and teachers, participatory observations, and document analysis related to school planning and evaluation. The findings reveal that data-driven management at SDN Wangkalwetan is implemented through a cyclical process involving data identification, collaborative data interpretation, program planning, implementation, and evaluation. School performance data are primarily utilized to guide instructional supervision, teacher development programs, and learning improvement initiatives. Nevertheless, the study also identifies challenges related to teachers’ data literacy and limited infrastructural support. This research contributes theoretically by enriching the discourse on data-driven educational leadership in primary education contexts and practically by offering insights for school leaders and policymakers in strengthening evidence-based school management practices.
2026-02-10T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Eny Mustari, Taufiq Harris, M. A qualitative approach with a descriptive method was employed. The research data consisted of oral utterances produced by Bhayangkari members, collected through non-participant observation during both formal and informal organizational activities. The findings reveal that Indonesian is predominantly used in formal settings as the official language and a unifying medium of the organization, while local languages such as Jambi, Kerinci, Sungai Penuh, and Minangkabau are more frequently used in informal interactions as a means of language maintenance and a marker of social identity. In addition, instances of code-switching and translanguaging were identified in linguistic interactions as communicative strategies to adapt to social contexts. These findings indicate that language choice within the Bhayangkari community is dynamic and influenced by communicative situations and the speakers’ linguistic backgrounds.
2026-02-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Ririn Lovenia Ardi, Yetty Morelent, Romi Isnanda, Sumaryati Sumaryatihttps://journal.tofedu.or.id/index.php/journal/article/view/1652Marketing of Illegal Cigarettes from a Legal Perspective in Indonesia2026-02-09T14:32:17+00:00Rangga Prayitnoranggaprayitno0@gmail.comAgussalim Magussalim20042017@gmail.comIrwan Febriantoirwanf01@gmail.com
The marketing of illegal cigarettes is a growing phenomenon in Indonesia and poses serious impacts on state revenue, fair business competition, and public health protection. Illegal cigarettes are generally marketed without excise tax stamps or by using counterfeit excise stamps, both through conventional distribution channels and digital media. This article aims to analyze the legal framework governing the marketing of illegal cigarettes, the forms of marketing practices that occur in practice, and the effectiveness of law enforcement carried out by the competent authorities. The research method employed is normative legal research using statutory and conceptual approaches. The findings indicate that although the legal regulation of excise has been comprehensively and strictly stipulated, the marketing of illegal cigarettes remains widespread due to weak supervision, economic factors, and low public legal awareness. Therefore, strengthening law enforcement and enhancing inter-agency synergy are necessary to suppress the circulation of illegal cigarettes in Indonesia.
2026-02-11T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Rangga Prayitno, Agussalim M, Irwan Febriantohttps://journal.tofedu.or.id/index.php/journal/article/view/1585The Evaluation of the Digital School Program through the Utilization of GENIUS APP to Enhance Teacher Performance at SDN Tamansari Wonorejo2026-01-23T13:16:55+00:00Muhammad Rosyid Jamilyrosyidjamily22@gmail.comTaufiq Harristaufiqharris@unigres.ac.idA. The evaluation was conducted using the comprehensive CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) model. A descriptive qualitative research method was applied, with data collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies. The findings reveal that, in terms of context, the program aligns with national digitalization policies and the school’s need for an efficient daily monitoring system. However, in the input aspect, limitations were identified in internet infrastructure and variations in teachers’ digital competencies. The implementation process encountered challenges in the form of resistance to change and suboptimal consistency in application usage. The product or outcomes of the program indicate improvements in administrative efficiency and digital documentation, although its impact on enhancing teachers’ pedagogical performance still requires strengthening. Key supporting factors include the principal’s commitment and training initiatives, while the main inhibiting factors are slow internet connectivity and dual workload demands. The implications of this study provide recommendations for program improvement, such as optimizing infrastructure support, ensuring continuous mentoring, and aligning the application with teachers’ actual workload, to ensure that technology truly serves as an enabler for improving the quality of educational management and teacher performance.
2026-02-11T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Muhammad Rosyid Jamily, Taufiq Harris, A. This article aims to examine the concept of disaster from an Islamic perspective based on the Qur'an and authentic Hadiths, as well as to explore the theological and educational meanings contained therein. This research uses a qualitative approach with a library research method, through analysis of verses from the Qur'an, specifically QS. Ar-Rūm: 41, QS. Asy-Syūrā: 30, QS. Al-Anfāl: 25, and QS. At-Taubah: 126, as well as authentic Hadiths related to calamities, repentance, and patience. The results of the study show that Islam views disasters as the result of human actions, a test of faith, a collective warning, and a means of divine education to encourage repentance and self-improvement. Disasters are not merely understood as punishment, but also as a form of mercy and an opportunity for moral and social transformation. The implications of this study emphasise the importance of integrating Islamic values into disaster education and strengthening Islamic character in order to build awareness of human responsibility as caliphs on earth.
2026-02-07T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Muharrir Na’iem, Muhammad Zaid, Nur Aisyah Ustar, Rahmaniah Rahmaniah, Amaluddin Amaluddinhttps://journal.tofedu.or.id/index.php/journal/article/view/1661Teachers’ and Principals’ Perceptions of School Administrative Staff Performance: A Case Study of UPT SDN 106 Manangalu, Burau District2026-02-13T12:24:32+00:00Sri Wahyutiasrysriwahyuti@gmail.comRusdin Saidrusdinsaid@stisipveteran.ac.idMuhammad Kuddusmuhammadkuddus86@gmail.com
This study aims to explore teachers’ and principals’ perceptions of the performance of School Administrative Staff (TAS) at UPT SDN 106 Manangalu, Kecamatan Burau, as well as to identify the key factors influencing these perceptions. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through questionnaires, interviews, and observations. A total of 21 respondents, consisting of teachers and the principal, participated in the study. Data analysis referred to Robbins and Judge’s (2019) theory of perception and Bernardin and Russell’s (2013) performance theory, covering five main aspects: quality of administrative services, discipline and attendance, communication and teamwork, use of information technology, and work effectiveness. The findings indicate that teachers’ and principals’ perceptions of TAS performance are generally in the good to very good category. The highest score was recorded in the quality of administrative services (average 3.51 or 87.75%), while the lowest was in the use of information technology (3.00 or 75%) and work effectiveness (3.01 or 75.25%). The most influential factors shaping positive perceptions are effective communication and teamwork, mastery of information technology, and overall work effectiveness in supporting school operations. In conclusion, TAS are perceived to perform their administrative duties well, showing discipline and professionalism. However, improvements are still needed in time discipline, digital technology utilization, and initiative in task completion. This research is expected to provide valuable insights for schools and policymakers in enhancing TAS performance to better meet the demands of school administration in the digital era.
2026-02-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Sri Wahyuti, Rusdin Said, Muhammad Kuddushttps://journal.tofedu.or.id/index.php/journal/article/view/1480The Implementation of the Demonstration Method in Playing the Bonang Musical Instrument in Extracurricular Activities at SMA Negeri Tolisu2026-01-07T13:49:43+00:00Zainal Arifinarifin08139@gmail.comRahmawati Ohiarifin08139@gmail.comTrubus Semiajiarifin08139@gmail.com
This study is motivated by the challenges encountered in the degung gamelan music extracurricular activities at SMA Negeri Tolisu, particularly the mismatch between students’ techniques and the correct playing patterns of the bonang musical instrument. Students still require full instruction and intensive supervision due to inefficiencies in the practice process, which in turn affect their creativity and interest in music. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of the demonstration method in improving students’ ability to play the bonang among extracurricular participants. This research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach, supported by simple quantitative analysis to process students’ learning outcome data. The research subjects consisted of eight students from SMA Negeri Tolisu. Data collection techniques included unstructured interviews, direct field observation, and documentation in the form of photographs and videos of the activities. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the implementation of the demonstration method over eight meetings led to significant improvement in students’ abilities. The learning process comprised preparation, implementation (introduction, demonstration, guided practice, independent practice), and evaluation stages. Based on an assessment rubric covering cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects, most students achieved the “Good” category, with achievement percentages exceeding the predetermined indicator of 75%. In conclusion, the demonstration method is effective in improving students’ skills in playing the bonang musical instrument, as it allows students to directly observe and imitate the techniques.
2026-02-04T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Zainal Arifin, Rahmawati Ohi, Trubus Semiajihttps://journal.tofedu.or.id/index.php/journal/article/view/1614The Challenges Faced by Teachers in Developing Literary Literacy Among Senior High School Students in Sungai Penuh City Under the Merdeka Curriculum2026-01-27T14:22:29+00:00Ririn Lovenia Ardiririnlovenia@gmail.comSyofiani SyofianiSyofiani@gmail.comHidayati AzkiyaAzkiya@gmai.com
This study aims to describe the challenges faced by Indonesian language teachers in developing literary literacy among senior high school students in Sungai Penuh City during the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. The study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected through a Google Form–based questionnaire distributed to Indonesian language teachers at the senior high school level. The research instrument was designed using a Likert scale to capture teachers’ perceptions of the implementation of literary literacy in schools. The findings indicate that teachers encounter several major challenges in developing literary literacy, including limited instructional time, teachers’ readiness to design creative and contextual literary learning, students’ low interest in reading literary works, and limited availability of literary teaching materials. Limited instructional time emerged as the most dominant challenge, followed by teachers’ need for training and mentoring in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum. These findings suggest that the development of literary literacy within the Merdeka Curriculum requires sustained support, including the enhancement of teachers’ competencies, the provision of relevant teaching materials, and the adoption of instructional strategies that can increase students’ interest and engagement. This study is expected to contribute to the development of literary learning at the secondary school level.
2026-02-15T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Ririn Lovenia Ardi, Syofiani Syofiani, Hidayati Azkiyahttps://journal.tofedu.or.id/index.php/journal/article/view/1649Innovation in Authentic Assessment in Islamic Religious Education Learning in the Digital Era2026-02-07T06:33:26+00:00Rosmiati Ramlirosmiatiramli07@gmail.comMuharrir Na’iemNa’iem@gmail.comNur Aisyah UstarUstar@gmail.comMuminayah MuminayahMuminayah@gmail.comAbdul AssamAssam6@GMAIL.COM
The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to various aspects of education, including learning assessment systems. Islamic Religious Education (IRE), as a subject aimed at shaping students who are faithful, knowledgeable, and possess noble character, requires a comprehensive and contextual assessment approach. Authentic assessment emerges as an alternative evaluation method that holistically measures students’ cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains through tasks that reflect real-life situations. This paper aims to examine the concept of authentic assessment, its innovative forms in Islamic Religious Education learning in the digital era, as well as the challenges and opportunities of its implementation. This study employs a qualitative approach through a literature review of recent scholarly sources, educational regulations, and both classical and contemporary literature in Islamic education. The findings indicate that the integration of digital technology into authentic assessment in Islamic Religious Education can enhance the objectivity, efficiency, and relevance of assessment, while also supporting the internalization of Islamic values in students’ daily lives. Both function not merely as a transmission of normative knowledge, but also as essential instruments for instilling fundamental values such as honesty, responsibility, and empathy in everyday life. Through a literature-based study reviewing various academic journals and scholarly references, this study finds that the integration of religious and moral education within the formal education system constitutes a crucial foundation for students’ character development. The analysis indicates that strengthening these two aspects in an integrated manner has a significant impact, particularly on improving students’ moral conduct, discipline, and awareness of social responsibility. Therefore, strong synergy is required among educational institutions, the role of teachers as role models, and the family environment as the primary foundation to ensure that moral and spiritual values are optimally internalized in the educational process. Thus, this article emphasizes that Islamic religious and moral education in elementary schools plays an important role in shaping a young generation that is religious, possesses noble character, and is ready to become a pillar of the nation by contributing positively to society and the wider world.
2026-02-11T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Widia Putri, Sujarwohttps://journal.tofedu.or.id/index.php/journal/article/view/1600The Effect of Principal Supervision on Teacher Performance at SDN Wonosari, Pasuruan2026-01-25T00:24:35+00:00Puji Handayanipujihandayani56@admin.sd.belajar.idAhmad ThohirinAhmadthohirin451@gmail.comSuyitnosuyitno@unigres.ac.id
This study aims to describe the implementation of principal supervision and its contribution to teacher performance at SDN Wonosari, Pasuruan Regency. These circumstances have the potential to trigger security and order disturbances if not anticipated through systematic preventive measures. Law Number 22 of 2022 on Corrections, particularly Article 81, emphasizes early detection as a strategic instrument in preventing security and order disturbances within correctional institutions. This study aims to examine the implementation of early detection of security and order disturbances at the Class I Correctional Facility of Bandar Lampung based on the provisions of Article 81 of Law Number 22 of 2022 on Corrections. In addition, this research analyzes the factors influencing the effectiveness of early detection in correctional practice. The research employs an empirical juridical method with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through a literature review of relevant laws and regulations as well as legal literature, and through interviews with correctional officials and officers directly involved in security management and inmate development. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis to assess the consistency between normative legal provisions and their implementation in practice. The findings indicate that the implementation of early detection of security and order disturbances at the Class I Correctional Facility of Bandar Lampung has generally been conducted in accordance with the normative framework of Law Number 22 of 2022. This is reflected in practices such as monitoring inmate behavior, supervising residential block environments, and strengthening coordination among correctional officers. However, the effectiveness of its implementation remains suboptimal due to limitations in human resources, overcrowding conditions, and inadequate supporting facilities and infrastructure. This study concludes that early detection is a strategic instrument in maintaining security and order within correctional institutions. Therefore, strengthening human resources, improving facilities and infrastructure, and optimizing supervision systems are necessary to ensure that early detection can be implemented more effectively and sustainably.
2026-02-10T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Baharudin Baharudin, Mario Nazir Lumban Rajahttps://journal.tofedu.or.id/index.php/journal/article/view/1628The Implementation of Student Administration at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Palembang2026-02-01T03:33:16+00:00Dona Fitri Saridonafitrisari13@gmail.comArwanadeakhmadsaputra_uin@redenfatah.ac.idMaryancemaryance_uin@redenfatah.ac.id
Student administration is an essential component of educational management that supports the effective, efficient, and sustainable implementation of the educational process. However, several challenges remain, such as students’ low discipline in completing administrative requirements and the suboptimal integration of data due to the use of multiple non-centralized systems.
2026-02-20T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Dona Fitri Sari, Arwan, Maryancehttps://journal.tofedu.or.id/index.php/journal/article/view/1656Literature Review: Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG)2026-02-10T11:16:07+00:00Amalia Rizki Yunitaamaliarizkiyunita.unpam@gmail.comFajarman Zaizaib@ubl.ac.idMuhamad KhohaerudinKhohaerudin@gmail.comSiti MaimunahMaimunah@gmail.comAni KusumaningsihKusumaningsih5@gmail.com
This study aims to examine developments and empirical findings related to the influence of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) through a literature review. Data were obtained from 30 scientific journal published between 2021 and 2025 and collected through a systematic search using Google Scholar with the help of the Publish or Perish application. A literature review with descriptive analysis was conducted to identify research trends, the most frequently used variables, and patterns in previous empirical findings. The results indicate that most studies report ESG as having an influence on financial performance, firm performance, firm value, profitability, and earnings management. Specifically, 70% of the reviewed studies documented a significant effect of ESG, while 30% reported insignificant results. Financial performance emerged as the most frequently examined dependent variable, followed by firm performance and firm value. These findings suggest that ESG is increasingly viewed as a crucial factor in supporting business sustainability and enhancing investor confidence. Nevertheless, variations in empirical results indicate opportunities for future research to further explore contextual factors that may strengthen or weaken the influence of ESG.
2026-02-14T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Amalia Rizki Yunita, Fajarman Zai, Muhamad Khohaerudin, Siti Maimunah, Ani Kusumaningsihhttps://journal.tofedu.or.id/index.php/journal/article/view/1589Analysis of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Using the Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC) Method at the Tunas Toyota Balaraja Workshop2026-01-23T15:22:06+00:00Nurmuklis Sugianto Muklismuklisnur709@gmail.comSulaeman Deni Ramdaniramdanifikhah@gmail.com
Work accidents can occur in any work activity. Work accidents can be caused by worker negligence or inappropriate tools used in a procedure. The aim of this research is to identify the possibility of work accidents occurring so that they can be prevented. This research uses the HIRARC (Hazard Identification Risk Assessment and Risk Control) process to identify hazards, calculate threats, and manage impacts to prevent industrial accidents. This research was conducted at Tunas Toyota Balaraja which is located on Jl. Raya Serang No. Km 24, Balaraja, Kec. Balaraja, Tangerang Regency, a company that operates in the field of car sales and vehicle servicing. The research process took 40 working days and saw firsthand all the activities at Tunas Toyota Balaraja. Tunas Toyota Balaraja is a company that sells and repairs four-wheeled cars. Car maintenance is a task that is carried out when the car is damaged. This task is not performed every day and only incidentally if the car breaks down. Car maintenance can be divided into three categories: mechanical maintenance, interior, and repairs. The results obtained in this research indicate that Tunas Toyota Balaraja has gaps in the risk identification process due to a lack of knowledge about work safety and the results of the data obtained show that every work activity in the Tunas Toyota Balaraja workshop has a high level of work risk. Because the activities here are directly related to materials that contain chemicals such as oil, battery water, radiator water, brake fluid. direct contact with gasoline, this risk of course causes economic losses. Therefore, all mechanics strive to use complete PPE on all high-risk work. Vehicle maintenance activities are divided into two activities, namely car repairs if problems occur and periodic maintenance activities based on the distance traveled by the car. In this activity there are 9 high risks, 7 medium risks, and 1 low risk. The high risk comes from potential dangers such as slipping, head injuries, scalded hands due to direct contact with hot oil, electric shock when charging the battery. Control in the form of eliminating all forms of work hazards, technical supervision and training, administrative control in the form of providing funnels when pouring oil to avoid oil spills and PPE by wearing rubber gloves. Moderate risk is caused by eye irritation and hand injuries from sharp objects. Risk control is carried out in the form of elimination, engineering and management techniques in the form of mechanical safety guarantees and pre-work safety meetings.
2026-02-11T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Nurmuklis Sugianto Muklis, Sulaeman Deni Ramdanihttps://journal.tofedu.or.id/index.php/journal/article/view/1642The Role of the Begawe Tradition in Strengthening Social Solidarity in the Pendua Village Community2026-02-04T06:10:38+00:00Saskia Erlina Putrisaskiaerlianiputri@gmail.comHaeruanisa HaeruanisaHaeruanisa@gmail.comSulpi SulpiSulpi@gmail.comAyu Gading SuryaniSuryani@gmail.comMuh. This article analyzes the relationship between HOTS—encompassing analytical, critical, and creative thinking skills—and the deep learning curriculum concept that emphasizes joyful, mindful, and meaningful learning. The research method employs a literature review approach by examining scholarly articles published between 2024 and 2025 obtained from Google Scholar and nationally accredited reputable journals relevant to the development of HOTS within the context of the Merdeka Curriculum. The findings indicate that deep learning–based instruction is able to activate HOTS holistically: joyful learning stimulates creativity, mindful learning strengthens critical evaluation through metacognitive awareness, and meaningful learning facilitates in-depth analysis through contextual experiences. The integration of these three principles creates a humanistic and transformative learning ecosystem. This article affirms that a deep learning curriculum is not merely a pedagogical approach, but a strategic framework for improving the quality of national education based on 21st-century competencies.
2026-02-13T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Shafinna Al-Zahrahttps://journal.tofedu.or.id/index.php/journal/article/view/1586The Implementation of Teacher Training Programs to Enhance Pedagogical Competence in Elementary Schools2026-01-23T13:45:08+00:00Bagus Koko Wicaksonobaguskokow85@gmail.comTaufiq Harristaufiqharris@unigres.ac.idSuyitno Suyitnosuyitno@unigres.ac.id
Teachers' pedagogical competence is a key determinant of learning quality. However, preliminary observations at two elementary schools in Tosari indicated that teachers' pedagogical competence still needs improvement, as seen from the dominance of lecture methods, difficulties in designing innovative lesson plans, and limited integration of ICT. This study aims to analyze the implementation of teacher training programs in an effort to improve this pedagogical competence. The research uses a descriptive phenomenological qualitative approach, located at UPT SDN Podokoyo I Tosari. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and document studies, then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana and verified through triangulation. The findings show that program implementation refers to Edward III's framework, where factors of communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure significantly influence. Needs-based and participatory training programs proved effective in improving teacher competence, especially in lesson planning, varied teaching methods, and the use of simple media. However, the sustainability of training impact requires systemic support such as ongoing mentoring and supportive school policies. This study concludes that well-planned and contextual training program implementation can be an effective strategy for teacher professional development at the elementary school level.
2026-02-11T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Bagus Koko Wicaksono, Taufiq Harris2, Suyitno Suyitnohttps://journal.tofedu.or.id/index.php/journal/article/view/1639The Role of Village Government in Optimizing Child Marriage Prevention in Pendua Village2026-02-03T12:00:06+00:00Lela Agustinaagustinalela710@gmail.comAbdurrahman AbdurrahmanAbdurrahmayah@gmail.comRepalia Agustinagustin.aka@usd.ac.idRiswan RiswanRiswato@gmail.comMuh HamdaniHamdani@GMAIL.COM
Early marriage refers to a marital union involving individuals under the age of 16 for females and under 19 for males. In Pendua Village, North Lombok Regency, early marriage frequently occurs, prompting the village government to take measures to minimize the number of child marriages. This program aims to prevent child marriage in Pendua Village, North Lombok Regency. Several factors contribute to the occurrence of child marriage in Pendua Village, including both internal and external factors. Internal factors include personal desire, while external factors involve parents’ economic conditions, educational background, and environmental influences. The community’s perception of child marriage in Pendua Village tends to be positive, as the practice is considered customary and socially accepted. The role of the government significantly influences community welfare. The Pendua Village government expresses concern that children below the legal age choose early marriage, as they should instead receive proper education and pursue higher levels of schooling. Consequently, the village government collaborates with traditional leaders and the local women’s school to address and minimize child marriage by conducting awareness campaigns in each hamlet, providing guidance through traditional leaders and hamlet heads, encouraging parents to motivate their children to continue their education, and strengthening the enforcement of marriage laws along with their sanctions.
2026-02-22T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Lela Agustina, Abdurrahman Abdurrahman, Repalia Agustin, Riswan Riswan, Muh Hamdanihttps://journal.tofedu.or.id/index.php/journal/article/view/1662Community-Based Disaster Risk Management through the Disaster-Resilient Village Program at the Regional Disaster Management Agency of Pesisir Selatan Regency2026-02-13T14:26:59+00:00Riswanto Bakhtiarharis.unespdg@gmail.comM. The study aims to understand how the Destana community and the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) manage disaster risks in Pesisir Selatan. This research uses a qualitative method that describes the results of community-based disaster risk management in Pesisir Selatan, including the challenges and efforts in managing disaster risks. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The results indicate that disaster risk management in Pesisir Selatan emphasizes that the effectiveness of disaster response heavily relies on systematic communication and education for the community. Through the Disaster-Resilient Village program, this strategic approach not only builds community capacity to face disaster risks but also strengthens collaboration between the government and related agencies. The award from BNPB to Painan Selatan demonstrates the positive potential of this program. Additionally, the use of social media for communication and coordination between BPBD and disaster-resilient villages allows the community to remain vigilant against potential threats. The establishment of disaster- resilient village communities also requires active participation from all layers of society in organization and decision-making, reflecting that disaster risk reduction is a shared responsibility, not just the government’s. However, there are still challenges faced by the local government, including budget shortages, community understanding, and a lack of resources in the regional disaster management agency. Kot. The background of this study was driven by the rise in cases of sexual violence against children which often place children in vulnerable positions due to unequal power relations and dependence on adults. The case raised in this study highlights how psychological coercion is used by perpetrators to control underage victims. The problems in this study are: the factors causing perpetrators to commit crimes of violence or threats of violence that force underage victims to engage in sexual intercourse with them or with others based on the study of decision number 433/Pid.Sus/2022/PN. Kot. and the basis for judges' considerations in issuing decision number 433/Pid.Sus/2022/PN. Kot. The research method uses a normative juridical and empirical juridical approach. The normative legal approach is pursued through a literature review, examining relevant laws, doctrines, and legal literature. Meanwhile, the empirical approach involves interviews with parties involved or directly familiar with the case to obtain a factual picture of the application of the law in the field. The results of the study indicate that the causal factors of this crime originate from internal aspects in the form of deviant sexual desires from the perpetrator, as well as external aspects including the influence of the social environment, weak moral control, and the negative impact of technological developments. Regarding the judge's considerations, it was found that the decision was taken based on two main bases. Juridically, the judge assessed the fulfillment of the criminal elements in Article 81 paragraph (1) of the Child Protection Law by emphasizing the existence of psychological violence and pressure that made the victim helpless. Non-juridically, the judge considered the deep trauma experienced by the victim as well as the existence of peace efforts and compensation from the defendant's family as mitigating factors in imposing sanctions. The recommendation from this study is that the government and society should continue to focus on strengthening sexual education in schools, increasing the role of families and communities in building awareness of ethics and the impact of sexual violence, and disseminating correct information to the public.
2026-02-15T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Baharudin Baharudin, Indah Satria, Espana Yudhistira Lanang Pangestuhttps://journal.tofedu.or.id/index.php/journal/article/view/1650English for Specific Purposes (ESP) (A Professional Needs Based Approach to English Language Learning)2026-02-07T07:39:44+00:00Elda Martha Surisurieldamartha@gmail.comAisa Milan SaripaSaripa@GMAIL.COM
English for Specific Purposes (ESP) is an approach to English language teaching designed based on learners’ academic and professional needs. In the context of modern education, particularly in higher education and vocational education, the use of English for General Purposes (EGP) is considered insufficient to fully address the demands for specific language competencies aligned with particular fields of study and the workplace. Therefore, the implementation of ESP is essential to enhance the relevance of English language learning to learners’ real needs. This study aims to analyze the concept and characteristics of English for Specific Purposes and to examine its implementation in the learning process within educational settings. The research method employs a qualitative approach, with data collected through a literature review of books, national and international journal articles, and curriculum documents related to ESP instruction. The findings indicate that ESP learning based on needs analysis can improve learning motivation, contextual language understanding, and learners’ readiness to meet academic and professional demands. However, this home-based industry faces serious challenges, including a decline in the number of business units due to highly traditional cultivation methods, the continued use of non-uniform local seedlings originating from the colonial era, and the absence of standardized post-harvest management practices. This community service activity aims to document the profile of existing local sugarcane cultivation and to identify solutions to low productivity, which currently averages only about 6 tons per hectare. The implementation method involved farmer surveys using a snowball sampling technique and field observations on 10 × 10 meter sample plots. The results indicate that by applying a selective harvesting method on a 1-hectare plantation, farmers are able to produce an average of 200 kg of palm sugar per week, with an average yield recovery rate of 12.07%. The resulting income reaches approximately IDR 4,000,000 per month, which is economically higher than income from oil palm land management. It can be concluded that the sugarcane palm sugar business in Sungai Asam Village has strong economic prospects; however, it requires interventions such as the adoption of superior varieties, improvements in farmers’ cash flow financing systems, and diversification of processed products to enhance market value and boost the regional economy.
2026-02-05T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Zachari Abdallah, Nurapni Jami Putri, Maryanto Maryantohttps://journal.tofedu.or.id/index.php/journal/article/view/1660An Analysis of Students’ Reading Strategies in Understanding English Text at First Semester Students of STIE-SAK Academic Year 2025/20262026-02-12T07:50:38+00:00Yelnim Yelnimanimstiesak@gmail.comSukarta KartawijayaKartawijaya@GMAIL.COM
In this research, the writer used descriptive research to analyze the students’ reading strategies in reading English text at first semester students of STIE-SAK academic year 2025/2026. This study aims to examine the impact of village head elections on social interaction within the Baebunta Village community, from both positive and negative perspectives. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Research informants included village head candidates, village officials, community leaders, religious leaders, women leaders, youth leaders, and residents involved in the election process. The findings indicate that the village head election in Baebunta Village produces dual impacts. On the positive side, it increases community political awareness, encourages active participation in the village democratic process, and fosters cooperation between the village government and residents in development activities. However, negative impacts also emerge, including horizontal conflicts, polarization among supporters, a decline in social solidarity, and post-election group exclusivity. Data analysis reveals that community social interaction undergoes dynamic changes, shifting from political tension toward social reconciliation through collective village activities. This study concludes that village head elections function not only as political arenas but also as significant factors shaping patterns of social relationships within the community. Therefore, active involvement of the village government is required to maintain social harmony, along with reconciliation mechanisms to prevent prolonged negative impacts.
2026-02-07T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Anthon Sattu Pabesak, Apriliani Kusuma Jayahttps://journal.tofedu.or.id/index.php/journal/article/view/1580The Role of School Principals’ Transformational Leadership in Enhancing Teachers’ Motivation and Pedagogical Competence: A Case Study at SDN Gunting I, Sukorejo2026-01-23T08:33:06+00:00Rahayu Suprihatinrahayu.suprihatin37@admin.sd.belajar.idTaufiq HarrisHarris@gmail.comA. The research aims to reveal how power relations between media and the state are constructed, negotiated, and maintained through language. Employing a qualitative approach, this study applies Norman Fairclough’s three dimensional model of Critical Discourse Analysis, encompassing textual analysis, discursive practice, and social practice. The data consist of fifteen selected excerpts from the televised dialogue, which are analyzed as complete discursive events. The findings indicate that at the textual level, Najwa Shihab employs evaluative diction, oppositional structures, and critical interrogative forms to problematize the draft law and challenge state authority, while Prabowo Subianto utilizes declarative, normative, and imperative expressions to assert legitimacy and institutional power. At the level of discursive practice, the media exercises discursive control by framing issues around public concerns and directing the flow of interaction, whereas the state adopts defensive and justificatory strategies to normalize policy decisions and limit criticism. At the level of social practice, the discourse reflects broader democratic tensions in Indonesia related to transparency, public participation, and the centralization of state power. The study concludes that the dialogue functions not merely as an informative interview but as a political arena where media and state actors compete discursively to shape meaning, legitimacy, and public opinion.
2026-02-20T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Rosita Sofyaningrun, Rully Aprilia Radiantihttps://journal.tofedu.or.id/index.php/journal/article/view/1657A Decision Support System for Selecting the Optimal Specialization Using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP)2026-02-11T08:23:24+00:00Hamsiah Hamsiahhamsiah370@gmail.comNurapni Jami Putrinurapnijamiputri@gamil.comAdek Irma Rosiadek.irmarosi1992@gmail.com
The selection of a study specialization is an important decision for students, as it influences the development of academic competencies and future career paths. However, the process of choosing a specialization is often conducted subjectively and does not systematically consider multiple criteria. This study aims to design and implement a Decision Support System (DSS) for selecting a study specialization using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. The AHP method is applied to address multicriteria decision-making problems by constructing a hierarchical structure, performing pairwise comparisons among criteria, and determining the priority weights of each alternative. The criteria used in this study include academic performance, career prospects, and the quality of supporting lecturers. The results indicate that the application of the AHP method is able to provide objective and consistent recommendations for study specializations based on the highest priority values. Thus, the developed decision support system can assist students in determining the study specialization that best aligns with their abilities and interests.
2026-02-11T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Hamsiah Hamsiah, Nurapni Jami Putri, Adek Irma Rosihttps://journal.tofedu.or.id/index.php/journal/article/view/1455The Effectiveness of Digital Application-Based Public Services (NTB Care and Lapor) at the Department of Communication, Informatics, and Statistics of the Province of West Nusa Tenggara2026-01-02T07:39:49+00:00Sulfardin Sulfardinrefanafandry@gmail.comRossi Maunofa WidayatWidayat@gmail.comM Ariy DermawanDermawan@GMAIL.COM
The development of information technology has prompted the government to improve the quality of public services through the use of digital systems. The research employed a descriptive quantitative approach with 27 eleventh-grade science students from SMA Negeri 12 Kendari as the subjects. The research instrument was a written diagnostic test designed to identify students’ conceptual and mathematical difficulties based on learning indicators for reaction rates. The data were analyzed by calculating the percentage levels of students’ difficulties for each indicator as well as the average difficulty for each aspect. The results show that, in the conceptual aspect, students’ difficulties fall into the moderate category with an average percentage of 46%, with the highest difficulty found in the indicator of relating changes in concentration to time (55%). In the mathematical aspect, students’ difficulties range from moderate to high, with an average percentage of 52%, where the highest difficulty occurs in the indicator of applying reaction rate formulas (65%). These findings indicate that students’ mathematical difficulties tend to be more dominant than their conceptual difficulties; therefore, instruction on reaction rates should be designed to emphasize a balanced integration of conceptual understanding and computational skills.
2026-02-16T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Nur Fajriani, La Rudi, Esnawi Esnawihttps://journal.tofedu.or.id/index.php/journal/article/view/1654An Analysis of The Implementation Project Based Learning In The English Reading Class of Eleventh Grade Students At SMA 3 Kota Bengkulu2026-02-09T16:26:50+00:00Arum Mutiara Sariarummutiarasari99@gmail.com
This study aims to analyze the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) in English reading instruction for eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 3 Kota Bengkulu, focusing on instructional practices, student engagement, assessment, and contextual challenges. The study addresses the ongoing issue of teacher-centered reading instruction in EFL classrooms, which often limits students’ engagement and higher-order comprehension skills. A qualitative descriptive case study design was employed to obtain an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews with two English teachers and selected eleventh-grade students, and document analysis of lesson plans, reading materials, student projects, and assessment instruments. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis following the interactive model of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that PjBL was implemented through structured stages, including contextual problem introduction, guided reading, collaborative discussion, project construction, and assessment. The approach enhanced students’ reading engagement, comprehension, and ability to synthesize textual information into meaningful products. Reading activities became more purposeful and contextualized, fostering collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking. However, challenges related to limited instructional time, variation in students’ reading proficiency, and the absence of comprehensive assessment rubrics were also identified. The study concludes that Project-Based Learning can effectively transform reading instruction into a student-centered and meaningful learning process when supported by careful instructional planning and appropriate assessment strategies. A quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest control group was employed involving 50 students from two public elementary schools in Pasuruan Regency, East Java. The experimental group (n = 24) received instruction using the TANDUR model, while the control group (n = 26) followed conventional teaching methods. Data were collected through motivation questionnaires based on Keller’s ARCS model and psychomotor observation rubrics, then analyzed using descriptive statistics, normalized gain (N-gain), and independent samples t-test. Results showed a statistically significant improvement in both motivation (p < 0.05; N-gain = 0.68, moderate) and psychomotor skills (p < 0.01; N-gain = 0.73, high) in the experimental group compared to the control group. These findings suggest that the TANDUR-based Quantum Teaching model effectively enhances affective and psychomotor domains by engaging students in experiential, contextual, and celebratory learning activities aligned with Piaget’s concrete operational stage. Employing a systematic qualitative-comparative approach with explicit analytical frameworks, this study delineates philosophical foundations, legitimacy sources, implementation mechanisms, and power limitations inherent to each perspective. Findings reveal that Indonesian popular sovereignty represents a unique Pancasila-based synthesis dialoguing with Western liberal traditions and Islamic principles. However, empirical evidence demonstrates fundamental challenges including pervasive oligarchy (wealth defense mechanisms), systemic corruption, identity politics mobilization, and disinformation campaigns collectively threatening democratic quality as measured by Diamond's eight dimensions. This article argues that Islamic legal principles, when interpreted progressively and contextually, can offer robust ethical frameworks to address these distortions through internalization of Islamic ethics in democratic praxis rather than sharia formalization. These findings contribute original insights by integrating sovereignty analysis with contemporary democratic challenges through an Islamic lens, filling significant gaps in comparative political theory literature.
2026-02-21T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Robert Cenedy
