Abstract
This study aims to examine the effect of using Spinning Wheel as a teaching media on vocabulary mastery of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Kerobokan. Spinning Wheel provides an interactive learning activity that allows students to engage with vocabulary through various classroom activities. Using a quantitative pre-experimental research design, this study involved fifth-grade students as the research participants. The population and sample were involved one group containing 37 students. Data collection was conducted using vocabulary test which was formed as multiple-choice questions. The data were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistical analysis through SPSS, including the normality test, paired sample t-test, and effect size analysis. The findings showed an improvement in students’ vocabulary mastery score after the treatment, as indicated by the increase in the mean score from the pre-test to the post-test. The paired sample t-test also revealed a significant difference between students’ vocabulary scores before and after the treatment (p < 0.05). Furthermore, the effect size analysis indicated that the implementation of Spinning Wheel had a substantial practical effect on students’ vocabulary mastery. These findings suggest that Spinning Wheel can serve as an interactive teaching media that supports students’ vocabulary learning and encourages active participation during the English learning process.
