Abstract
Digital transformation has brought significant changes to the governance of educational institutions, including madrasahs, which are required to manage various aspects of institutional administration effectively, efficiently, transparently, and adaptively in response to developments in information technology. Nevertheless, the implementation of digital transformation in madrasahs continues to face several challenges, including limited human resource competencies, inadequate infrastructure readiness, and leadership capacity in managing organizational change. This study aims to analyze the strategies employed by madrasah principals in developing technology-based school governance as part of the transformation of educational management in the digital era. This study adopts a qualitative approach using a library research method. Data were obtained from various scholarly sources, including national and international journal articles, books, educational policy documents, and relevant research findings concerning educational leadership, digital transformation, and school management. The data were analyzed using content analysis through a process of data reduction, categorization, interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the success of educational management transformation is influenced by the ability of madrasah principals to exercise digital leadership through the formulation of technology-based policies, the enhancement of the digital competencies of teachers and educational staff, the optimization of management information systems, the development of a collaborative digital work culture, and the implementation of data-driven decision-making. These findings demonstrate that digital transformation involves more than merely adopting technology; rather, it constitutes a process of organizational and governance change that requires visionary, innovative, and sustainable leadership to improve the quality of educational services.
