Abstract
Art education at the elementary school level is still often implemented conventionally, with limited learning media and insufficient opportunities for students to explore and develop their creativity. This study aimed to develop adaptive creative learning media in the form of an animated video for art education in Grade V at SD Negeri 06 Kampung Lapai and to determine its validity, practicality, and effectiveness in supporting students’ creativity. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the Borg and Gall development model, which was simplified according to the needs and limitations of the study. The development process included preliminary research, planning, initial product development, preliminary field testing, product revision, main field testing, operational testing, and final product refinement. The subjects were 22 Grade V students and the classroom teacher, while product validation involved three experts in media, language, and material. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, documentation, and pre-test and post-test. Data were analyzed descriptively using qualitative and quantitative approaches. The results showed that the animated video obtained an average validity score of 90.35%, categorized as very valid. The practicality assessment obtained 98.51% from the teacher and 98.49% from students, categorized as very practical. The effectiveness test also showed an increase in the students’ mean scores from 72.72 on the pre-test to 93.18 on the post-test, indicating that the media was very effective. Thus, the developed adaptive creative learning media is feasible, practical, and effective for supporting art learning and students’ creativity.
