Abstract

The Industrial Revolution 4.0 has brought significant changes in the world of education, requiring teachers to possess competencies aligned with the development of technology and the dynamics of modern learning. This article discusses the importance of teacher competencies in facing the challenges of the digital era to improve the quality of education. The method used in this research is a literature review that examines various sources related to the pedagogical, professional, social, and technological competencies that teachers must have. The analysis results indicate that the utilization of digital technology, the enhancement of critical thinking skills, and the strengthening of soft skills such as communication and collaboration are key to building adaptive teacher competencies. With continuous competency development, it is hoped that the quality of education can improve, thus producing generations that are ready to face global challenges.
